For a series of complex reasons, the field of Social Finance often faces critical limitations and heightened barriers to bringing crucially-needed resources to target beneficiaries at the last-mile. This session will investigate how “last-mile-first” solutions can be enabled through decentralization, with both digital and analogue components, and how advancements in blockchain enables these solutions to scale. Panelists will discuss their own real-world projects which will include such strategies as: time banking, cooperative finance, community currencies, and microfinance.
